I have a wonderful wife and childern of my own. My wife's name is bethany she is 48 and my kids names are steven which is 1, Amanda which is 6 and they are my life. I couldn't ask for three better people in my life and to top it all off i'm proud to say i'm a brittish soldier.
Although I miss my family more than any thing I still love fighting in war for my counrty, thats what I came here for. I've learned to just deal with it, I knew it was going to happen when I came here. My weapon I use is a machine gun, It's much more effective than a riffle or any other weapon I'm awear of. My country has a good navy and I'm very proud of them. We have a positive attitude about most things with our country, Others think they have a strong navy but they just aren't anything compared to Great Britain.
Week 1, Why Britain is fighting in the war:
Britain is fighting in war because of militarism. Britain has the strongest navy in the world, there for Germany is trying to build up their navy to be stronger than ours, but Britain doesn't see that happening so because we have the strongest navy we aren't liked by Germany who is part of the central powers. That is one of couple reasons our country is in war. The other reason our country is fighting is because it is part of the entente, which in that includes France, Russia, and Belgium and when Austria declared war with Serbia, they were already in alliance with the entente, so then Britain was drug into the war. And that is why we are fighting in the war.
Week 2, Battle Plan:
Our battle plan is to win this big war, we have many people on air-planes and in trenches which can be very dangerous and we want to try our best to keep them safe and alive the whole time we are fighting which hopefully will not be long considering we have a few machine guns we handle which kills alot more people alot faster than riffels and bombs so which is some other weapons used. So with our weapons hopefully we will win this and keep our people safe. That is our battle plan.
June 28, 1914 something big happened !
Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie of Austria-Hungary were assassinated!
o one is really suprised about this whole situation everyone already knew he had it coming. A group from Serbia called the Black Hand Terrorist group was the group that put him in this situation. The Serbian nasionalists took the visit to their country as a threat. A member of the Black Hand threw a bomb at the Archduke's car, but neither killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand or his Sophie, so that was a plus. but then something terrible happened, another member of the group fired two shots and killed both Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophie. Then when Austria found out the declared war on Serbia. Austria had made alliances with the Central Powers. Serbia made alliances with the entente, which is another reason Britain is involved in this war.
Just a normal old day in war, December 11, 1914:Today was nothing new, same old day of 9 hours holding the machine gun pointing at our enemies, just another long day. It is almost christmas and we are still stuck in these stupid old trentches, with not bein able to come out of them because we never knew if our enemies had weapons such as a riffel, a machine gun, or bombs for gods sake. So we just had to point our weapons at the enemies just for our own good. People thought this war would be over by christmas but everyone thought wrong. I just could not see that happening.

It is hard to believe it is christmas and I am stuck in these trenches I really miss my family, who knows how long it will be untill I get to see them again. My kids hopefully had a good christmas along with my wife and other family. Just another day stuck in these trenches with no one but war people and my enemies, good christmas huh?

"Propaganda" is the spreading of ideas and information to promote a certain cause, or to damage an opposing cause. This is one of our earlier propaganda posters, this is actually the propaganda poster that gave me the idea to join the war. I think they work well and that is how most people get the idea of wanting to fight for their country. This poster is trying to get you to get the idea that your theabsent one because your not joined in the navy.

This is insane, I can't believe these stupid Germans sunk our ship, the Lusitania. Actually in fact they thought the ship was carrying weapons, but it sure wasn't it was carrying 1200 people, and 128 of them were Americans. Everyone here is mad, they all hate the Germans. And they just assume stuff before they actually know whats going on. It kills me.
Christmas! December 25, 1915:
Here it is another Christmas, and yet they thought it would be over a year and a half ago. I want to go home I miss my family and I haven't gone without seeing them this long in forever. I just do not know how much longer I can take this!
The Zimmerman Note, January 23, 1917:
A British man discovered a telegram, from Germany to Mexico on January 19. He gave it to the American government. It was asking Mexico to become part of the Central Powers. In return, Germany was going to help Mexico reconquer the lost land of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona from the United States. It was written by Arthur Zimmerman, a German foreign minister.
President Wilson, April, 1917:
Well rumor has it that America's President, Woodrow Wilson, asked Congress to declare war on Germany! This means that the Americans would be on our side! They would be a great addition to the entente! I really hope this is more than just a rumor!! It will totally stick if it's not.
Russia has dropped out, and the U.S.A. is in, January, 1918!
Well, Russia has now dropped out of the war, because they are having a revolution in their home country. We will be at a loss without them, they were very dedicated young men, they put all their efforts into this war, in alliance with us. America sent almost two million men over to help us! The United States of America has joined the entente as a reaction to the Zimmerman Note, they are powerful, fresh, rested men that are well trained and aren't worn out like all of us soldiers that have been here for a while. I think they will advance our chances of finally winning this war greatly because of that. I think them joining us will make a big impact on us.
The day I have waited for, November 12, 1918:
The Germans sought armistice with us yesterday, at exactly eleven o'clock A.M. A while back, at the beginning of the year, the Germans told the Kaiser that they were not going to be able to win the war. I am just so thrilled that I will finally get to go home to be with my wife and children. Laura says that Julia, James, John, and Joseph are all so much different than the last time I saw them. I am not going to tell them I am coming home until I get there, so I can surprise them! I can't even wait! The treaty that really ended the war, was the Treaty of Versailles. We (the Allies) made a treaty, and then we made the Germans sign it. Here's what the treaty required:
1. Germans must assume full blame for the war.
2. Germans must pay reparations.
3. Germany must return Lorraine and Alsace to France.
4. Germany's oversea colonies were taken away from them.
Some people think the treaty was a little harsh on Germany, and I agree. David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of Britain, thinks we were way too harsh on them.
Home at Last, November 29, 1918:
I'm finally home thank godness! It's the best thing that has happened to me in a long time, my childeren are beautiful, along with my wonderful wife. They have grown up so much since I have been gone it's pathetic. I'm just thankful to be home!
